Peter's Chair

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a Happy St. Patrick's Day!  This Irish girl went home to Butte to celebrate with my family and enjoy some of our favorite traditions!

Our Little Inventors!!


Our friend Jaydon in our class is in the Flagship after school program.  He is participating in Cardboard Creation!  Jaydon has come to school a couple times with creations made out of cardboard.  This week I was so impressed with his invention I had to post it!! Great Job Jaydon! We are so proud of you!
 He even has inspired some of his friends... Here is Shane the Astronaut!

Sydney the Barn Owl!



Hello Families,
Spring is in the air and first grades will soon be “SPRINGING” into non-fiction.  Today, I introduced my friends to Sydney, a barn owl who lives in California.  We will be watching Sydney through a live stream as she lays and hatches her eggs.  You can watch her at home too at…  



This is wonderful introduction into our non-fiction unit and after spring break we will be hatching eggs in our class!! YAHOO!! But ssshhh…I haven’t told the kids yet!

the DOTish!

Happy Friday! 
Here are a few pictures of our project today!  In our Reading Street Books this week we read the Dot by Peter Reynolds.  To extend our reading, we read another story by Peter Reynolds today called Ish.   Students then dotted their name and Monday we will frame our beautiful art work, just like Vashti's teacher did!!  Have a wonderful weekend!
